Tom M. Mitchell is the Founders University Professor at Carnegie Mellon University, where he established the world's first Machine Learning Department. He has worked on machine learning and AI since his 1970s Ph.D. research, and in 2010 was elected to the U.S. National Academy of Engineering "For pioneering contributions and leadership in the methods and applications of machine learning."

The Daw Lab at Princeton University studies how people and animals learn from trial and error (and from rewards and punishments) to make decisions, combining computational, neural, and behavioral perspectives.

BCS Professors Ev Fedorenko, Jacob Andreas, and Roger Levy will present an update on the latest research being done within the Language and Thought Mission at SQI.
